Topic: Rotating disk galaxies in the early Universe

As a visiting Ph.D. student, I am now collaborating with Dr. Federico Lelli at the Arcetri Astrophysical Observatory in Florence, Italy, on the TRICEPS project. We are studying the dynamics of a sample of galaxies at redshift of 4 to 5. With observations from ALMA, VLA, and JWST, we are able to obtain thorough information on the kinematics and distribution of the baryonic matter in these galaxies. We will reveal how galaxies form and evolve in the early Universe, especially when it was younger than 10% of its current age.

Works:

  • Reduce data from ALMA and VLA
  • Fit the rotating gas disks
  • Build mass models
