Rotating disk galaxies in the early Universe

As a visiting Ph.D. student, I am now collaborating with Dr. Federico Lelli at the Arcetri Astrophysical Observatory in Florence, Italy. The project we have been working on is TRICEPS , where we study the cold gas dynamics of 16 massive galaxies at redshift of 4 to 5. With observations from ALMA, VLA, and JWST, we have obtained thorough information on the kinematics and distribution of the baryonic matter in these galaxies. We will reveal how galaxies form and evolve in the early Universe, especially when it was younger than 10% of its current age.
